    Austin Allenbaugh
    Freshman Austin Allenbaugh was recently invited to attend the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders Conference this summer in Boston. The CFSTL brings together students from around the nation annually to learn from astronauts, esteemed Nobel winners, and deans from universities. Allenbaugh has aspirations of becoming an astrophysicist. He is the youngest representative (15 years old) from South to ever be invited to a Congress event. 

    Ryan Madic
    Sixteen-year-old Ryan Madic, a South junior, has entered his protein shake maker in the third annual Pueblo Entrepreneurial Competition April 8. The competition is spearheaded by Colorado State University-Pueblo and Junior Achievement. Entering in the adult competition this year, Ryan has spent the past year working with a Denver industrial engineer to produce the first working prototype. He has applied for a trademark for the brand, EZ Protein.

    Laine Zabukovic
    Laine Zabukovic, author and South High senior, posed with Mr.Bravo at her book signing at Barnes and Noble book store. Laine's novel, Noxious, is her first work, and is published by Green Ivy Publishing.

    Lainee Jones
    Sophomore Lainee Jones placed second in the 200 yd. freestyle and 5th in the 100-yd. freestyle events at the Colorado Class 4A girls' state swimming championships.

    Ashlyn Ortega
    Sixteen-year-old Ashlyn Ortega placed fourth at 65 kg as part of the USA Wrestling Cadet women's team. The event was the Klippan Open in Switzerland February 19 - 21.
